Training Tip: Make Your Plank Meaner and More Effective

If you want to continue to get results, you need to make every exercise a little more difficult (mean) to continue to develop and get better. There are many ways to do this, including doing something for a longer time and so-on.

A lot of exercises are done so poorly that they don't need a progression yet, but some technique work to make the movement better and to make it more efficient.

One of those exercises is our topic today, the Plank.

This exercise is often butchered by being executed with a saggy spine or with the exerciser's hips up too high, removing the core stability requirement.

Believe it or not, this is not a complicated fix. It only requires a foam roller, medicine ball, or an exercise ball to make it better and to get you better return from your working out.


Only pull the implement in towards your hips, and you feel your plank like never before!
