Performance Training

Phase 1- ASSESS: FMS SCREEN - GAIT ASSESSMENT, SPORTS SPECIFIC SKILLS, NKT MUSCLE TESTING - CORRECTIONS

Phase 1 identifies the movement patterns and muscle functions of the athlete. Evaluation of dysfunctions and asymmetries are noted and corrective movements are prescribed. In this stage we also evaluate your sports movements by eye and by video analysis. Upon completion of Phase 1, the athlete is retested. Passing Phase 1 will place the athlete in Phase 2.

Phase 2- CORRECT: MOBILITY - STABILITY- TECHNIQUE

In this phase of training , you will be introduced to the proper techniques of training; our priority is keeping you injury free as you train. All the movements of your individual program are taught and mastered in this phase. In addition to all of this, your sport skills will be improved upon as well, making you better at your chosen sport.

Phase 3- CHALLENGE: PROGRAMMING - PROGRESSION - PERFORMANCE

Based on the results of your evaluation and the specific requirements of your sport, a program will be designed to enhance and accelerate your overall performance while maintaining movement quality and to keep you safe as you train.

You will be are monitored on a monthly basis. In-season, this monthly assessment will help you maintain strength and functional movement. During the off-season, your progress will be tracked. Let's us help you stay healthy during and to maintain your athleticism!

After having Tommy John surgery about a year ago, I turned to ESCAPE to regain strength in order to prepare for future seasons. Every trainer that I have worked with at ESCAPE has demonstrated a true compassion to helping me reach my maximum fitness potential. The trainers are very helpful and will do whatever is in the best interest of their clients. I have been working with (Christian) Ho Won Lee on an individual basis since my surgery. I can’t begin to tell how much of an impact he has already had on my life. Not only is he excellent at what he does from a training standpoint but he knows how to motivate everyone in the gym regardless of fitness level. I know that without Ho Won I would not be where I am today, almost in full recovery after such an intense surgery. I would honestly recommend him to anyone, he is the best around!

Training at ESCAPE allowed me to develop into a better athlete. I went into my training at ESCAPE great at my sport but an average athlete. At ESCAPE I was able to learn proper technique while becoming stronger. Training at ESCAPE is geared around different aspects than other places. Other training facilities put you in large groups and don’t focus on proper technique. While at ESCAPE my training was focused on proper technique. I trained in many different ways with three main areas and learned how to do them properly. The type of workouts that I did at ESCAPE were calisthenics, power lifting, and agility. I used everything from kettlebells and power ropes to a speed parachute. Throughout my training I continued to get stronger and lose weight. I noticed a constant improvement that made going to the gym very easy. All in all my experience at ESCAPE was very beneficial to my game and my athletic career.

Training at ESCAPE has given me a total advantage over all of my opponents. I have gotten bigger, faster, and stronger and will use it to my advantage in the upcoming season. Not only on a physical aspect has ESCAPE changed my performance but also in a mental way. I am more confident than I have ever been because I am in top condition.

I walked in to Escape hoping I would lose a few of my "freshman 15" and to feel prepared for my second season as a field hockey player at Gettysburg College and at the end of August I left with so much more than that. Christian and the rest of the trainers at Escape, immediately gained my trust and helped me feel comfortable and confident. I not only learned so much about the lifts I was supposed to be doing for school but also about myself and my own body. I was able to change little things about the way I worked out and see big improvements. After only a month at escape I finished in the top three on my run test as a sophomore and almost doubled my scores on my three lifting tests from the previous spring. I wasn't just physically stronger either; I have learned so much about myself and my body and was able to come in to my sophomore year with confidence. I'm so thankful for the people and opportunities that escape has introduced to me and I can't wait to be back in the gym!

Christian Lee is the glue that holds an athlete together. Specializing in functional strength and mobility, Christian has helped me become a more complete athlete. I have known Christian for a while, but truly benefited when I started devoting more of my time to his instruction and teaching.
I came to Christian in 2013, the winter before my junior year of baseball at Rowan University. I had struggled with back pain during my pitching delivery, which almost sidelined me for the fall. With the help of Christian and his colleagues, assessments quickly showed weakness and imbalance in my core and back that was causing the pain. I rehabbed at his facility all winter and noticed a slow, but sure, improvement in my back.
I was naïve to think that one month of rehab could remedy a problem developed over many years of flawed throwing mechanics and core stability; so it disappointed me when I felt less than 100% before my 2014 season. I specifically remember a piece of advice that Christian gave me before sending me off to Rowan. In short, he said, “All athletes will inevitably have weakness and imbalance throughout their body. It’s unreasonable to think that you can avoid having any kind of discomfort, every single game. To have a successful season this spring, you need to forget about your back and pitch.” I owe much of todays success to that talk I had with Christian. It was an attitude adjustment.
I still was to rehab and strengthen my core; however, instead of pitching like I felt, less than 100%, I ignored my back and pitched how I wanted to feel, 110%. This helped me to stop feeling sorry for myself and to do what I do best, pitch.
There are ways to measure how much faster, stronger, agile, and competitive athletes will become while training at Escape Fitness, but I’m not sure how to measure the change in attitude or motivation that Christian provokes though nothing more than his own character. Thank you for everything, Christian.
